Our mission at Overbrook Academy is to promote the integral development of our students by providing a dynamic, personalized and structured program of spiritual, human, intellectual and apostolic formation. By doing this, we strive to offer our students the knowledge and life skills necessary to become Catholic women leaders who are authentic, motivated and compassionate.
Cristina Villaseñor was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. She studied in Alpes Bugambilias school in Guadalajara and in 1989 she studied at Woodlands Academy, Ireland. She served the Church as a full time volunteer in Venezuela in 1996 and two years later was consecrated to God in the Regnum Christi Movement. She has a degree in Education and Development from Anahuac University in Mexico.
She has 18 years of experience working with adolescents. Her first experience came in Sorocaba, Brazil where she worked with groups of young people at various parishes. From Mexico she went to El Salvador where she directed the youth clubs of El Salvador and Guatemala. Throughout all these years she frequently directed summer camps, volunteers programs, and formation courses, and she dedicated much of her time to personal accompaniment of each of her students.
Since 2011 she has lived at Overbrook Academy, Rhode Island. Her first year there she was an instructor of formation, and since 2012 she has served as the director of the community of consecrated women who carry out their mission in the academy. She has also been the director of the Overbrook summer camp during those years. In addition, in 2014 she took on the role of formation director of the academy. During all this time she has worked closely with the director of the academy to ensure that every student receives personalized integral formation.
