Welcome to the Overbrook Academy Home Page
Introduction
Overbrook Academy, an
international school for girls in
grades sixth through ninth, was founded in the United States
in 1984. Located in scenic New England, Overbrook Academy offers
a unique environment to the OAK International pedagogy of integral
formation. Overbrook Academy thrives and matures in its continuing standards
for excellence: Integra Mulier (Integral Woman) - the intellectual, human,
and spiritual formation.
Overbrook Academy´s campus occupies 75 acres
overlooking the scenic waterfront of Narragansett Bay. Surrounded by the
quiet residential neighborhood of Warwick Neck, the school is a
comfortable and pleasant "home away from home" for its students.
The academy is recognized by the Rhode Island Department of
Education and is a member of AISNE (Association of Independent
Schools in New England).
As we receive our
students every September, in the midst of the rich crimsons
and ambers of the famous New England Autumn, we offer
them a richness of formation in the intellectual, human, and
spiritual areas, which is complemented by New England culture and
travel opportunities.
What are the hallmarks of the
Overbrook student? Leadership, strength of character, social grace, realized potential,
intellectual rigor, and an apostolic heart forged in love for
Christ and the Church. The experience of studying at Overbrook
Academy is an investment for future success, personal happiness, and
the accomplishment of actual change in the world in which
we live.
